Ron Williamson 1950-2008
RUTHVEN — Funeral service for former Ruthven resident Ronald D. William-son of Hartley is 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 13, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. The Rev. Luther Thoresen will officiate.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williamson died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in Sutherland. He was 58.
Ronald Dean Williamson was born Sept. 22, 1950, in Spender, the son of Gene and Peanuts (Mason) Williamson. He graduated from Ruthven Consolidated School in 1969. Ron continued his education at the University of South Dakota where he received a degree in Sociology.
Ron served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a social worker and export manager.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Ruthven American Legion Post #33.
Surviving are his parents, Gene and Peanuts Williamson of Ruthven; his sons, Benjamin (Kelly) Williamson of Blaine, MN and Steven (Courtney) Williamson of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren; friend Maureen Rawlings of Hartley; sisters, Connie (Dave) Severson of Spencer and Linda (Dar) Hansen of Ruthven; and brother, Rich (Julie) Williamson of Ruthven.
Mr. Williamson as preceded in death by his grandparents, three uncles and two aunts.
