Louis ‘Jack’ Laughlin 1932-2008
THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Louis “Jack” Laughlin passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle against cancer.
Jack, as he was known to all, was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Emmetsburg to Lou and Laura Laughlin. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army for three years and spent two of those years in Alaska during the Korean conflict. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1959.
Jack Laughlin and LaVonne Klocke were married in 1957 and have five children.
Jack is survived by his wife, LaVonne, and children Thomas and wife Sheri of Minneapolis, MN, Mark and wife Quanda of Thousand Oaks, CA, Kevin of San Mateo, CA, Patrick of Camarillo, CA and Mary of Thousand Oaks, CA; and grandchildren Christiana and husband Scott Rubin, Sean, Kevin, Conor, Allie, William, Andrew, Jack and Quiana. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Needham of Emmetsburg, and nine nieces and nephews.
Mr. Laughlin was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Laura Laughlin.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Paschal Baylon Church with interment immediately following at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.
