Agnes L. Pilquist 1915-2008
RUTHVEN — Funeral service for Agnes Pilquist of Ruthven is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. The Rev. Luther Thoresen will officiate.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. today, Thursday, at the funeral home in Ruthven.
Agnes Louise Iverson Pilquist, the daughter of P.K. and Anna (Duhn) Iverson, was born April 21, 1915, in Highland Township, Palo Alto County, Iowa. She departed this life on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Ruthven Community Care Center in Ruthven where she had resided since 2004, at the age of 93.
Agnes was baptized and confirmed at Lost Island Lutheran Church in Ruthven. She attended local schools and graduated from Ruthven High School in 1932. After graduation she attended Hamilton School of Business in Mason City and Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN. On Dec. 13, 1961, Agnes was united in marriage to Leonard Pilquist.
She is survived by her step-son, Kenneth (Ardis) of Estherville; seven grandchildren: Steven Pilquist, Alan Pilquist (Tresa), Connie Ripley (Richard), James Pilquist (Joyanna), Randall Rouse (Julie), Richard Rouse (Susan), and Ronald Rouse Suzanne); 16 grandchildren; and one great, great grandson.
Also surviving are sisters, Edith Fletcher and Esther Hermansen; and nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a step-daughter, Elaine Rouse; one brother and four sisters.
