Marjorie Korlaske 1921-2008
Marjorie Korlaske, 86, of Emmetsburg died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Palo Alto County Hospital.
Memorial service for Mrs. Korlaske is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The Rev. David A. Morris, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home.
Marjorie Korlaske, daughter of Harley and Rose (Broom) Wilson, was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Webster City. She received her education at Emmetsburg Community School.
On March 16, 1940, Marjorie and Orpheus Korlaske were married in Emmetsburg. Marjorie was employed at Messers Grocery Store and H.V. Wilson Plumbing and Heating. She also worked for Harold Reit. Marjorie later worked at McNally Bake Shop and Celine’s Bakery.
Marjorie had an avid interest in politics and political issues. She was also very interested in financial planning.
Surviving are her husband, Orpheus of Emmetsburg; her daughter, Rita Mazur of Sparks, NV; three sisters, Mona Knudson of Emmetsburg, Beverly Campbell of Oviedo, FL, and Pearl Lutroe of Emmetsburg; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Lockwood of Bancroft; and brother-in-law, Robert Korlaske of Des Moines.
Mrs. Korlaske was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Rose Wilson.
