Funeral service for Carolyne J. Laubenthal of Cylinder is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. David Morris will officiate.
Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmets-burg is in charge.
Mrs. Laubenthal died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at her home in Cylinder.
Carolyne Jane Laubenthal, daughter of Albert and Lena (Cook) Kirkwood, was born May 30, 1936, in Spencer. She attended school in Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School in 1954.
On April 12, 1958, Carolyne was married to Donald Laubenthal in Spencer. To this union six children were born. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg and was active in United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Spencer.
Surviving are her husband, Donald, of Cylinder; her children, Joel Laubenthal of Cylinder, Sarah (Cliff) Steffen of Ruthven, Pat Paskert of Lake Park, Rich (Pat) Laubenthal of Whittemore, Donna (Mike) Faulkingham of Knob Noster, MO, and Susan Stearns of Emmetsburg; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Laubenthal was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Ed; and two sisters, Regina Durst and Joan Olson.
