Robert E. Clark 1925-2008
WILLITS, CA — Robert Eugene Clark, born Dec. 24, 1925, in Curlew to William and Jessie (Feldman) Clark, passed away Saturday, April 12, at his daughter’s home in Willits, CA.
After attending school in Laurens, Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Bob and Mary (Bette) Maureen Degnan were married Nov. 28, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church in Ayrshire. While living in Spencer, Bob worked in construction and continued working in construction when in 1957 he moved his family to southern Califorina, after which he worked for the State of California until his retirement in 1980.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bette Clark in 1986, his four brothers, Belmont, Elwin, Stan and Merle, and his sister, Vyonne Clark Backstrom.
He is survived by his daughters, Cyndi Fuhrer (and Jim) and Karen Clark, his granddaughter Brooke, his great granddaugher Alexandria, his sisters-in-law, Eileen Clark, Geneva Clark and Margaret Degnan, and his special friend Karen Hopkins.
Bob enjoyed square dancing, RV camping, playing cards and time in the company of his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by many while fondly remembered by all for his zest for life, his great sense of humor, the fact that he could fix anyting, and for being a terrific Dad and Grandfather.
Services with Full Honor Guard were held Monday, April 21, at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
