Lois M. DePue 1923-2007

Funeral service for Lois DePue of Emmetsburg is 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. David A. Morris will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Honorary bearers are Mrs. DePue’s great grandchildren. Casket bearers her grandchildren.

Lois DePue, 84, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at the Emmetsburg Care Center.

Lois M. DePue was born July 23, 1923, in Corwith. She is the daughter of Albert and Kathryn (Bieghtol) Hildebrand,

Lois was married to Henry DePue. The couple farmed near Cylinder for several years where they raised their family.

Lois was member of the Cylinder United Methodist Church and currently the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. She was active in church circles at both churches.

Lois was a devoted homemaker and had been employed at Upper Des Moines Outreach for eight years, from 1991 to 1999.

Surviving are her children: Bill and Judy DePue of Cylinder, Betty Thompson of Omaha, NE, and Robert and Shirley DePue of Emmetsburg; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. DePue was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a son, John; an infant daughter, Kathy; her parents; two brothers, Glen and Roy; and two sisters, Grace Salisbury and Lucille Culbertson.
