Get Ready For E-Waste, Brown Goods Recycling

By Staff | Apr 20, 2021

E-Waste and Brown Goods recycling days are coming up the last week of April.

Collections will be made Wednesday, April 28, on the north side of Emmetsburg. Collections will be made Thursday, April 29, on the south side of Emmetsburg.

Shamrock Recycling, Inc. reminds residents that items are to be placed at curbside by 7:30 a.m. on collection day. If garbage is collected on the same day, E-Waste and Brown Goods should be placed away from normal garbage.

What can be placed curbside for recycling?

Computer mouse keyboard, lap top, desk top, external circuit board, hard drive, server, main frame, modem, monitor, scanner, CD Rom, and printer.

Fax machine, typewriter, VCR, speaker, stereo, and photo copier.

Television, cell phone, telephone, pager and cash register.

Kitchen items such as can openers and toasters will be accepted.

However, microwaves and vacuum cleaners will not be accepted.

E-Waste and Brown Goods recycling days are one time each year. This is a good time to get rid of computer and electronic equipment.
