Auction Fest Fundraiser Is Online This Weekend

EMMETSBURG CATHOLIC SCHOOL students take an active part in presenting Auction Fest to the community. For the second year, Emmetsburg Catholic School will be hosting Auction Fest as an online event to raise money to support the school. Auction Fests 2021 is Saturday, March 27.

“As we celebrate this 33rd Auction Fest I am most grateful to all who have supported this celebration,” said Father Bill Schreiber. He gave special thanks to the Auction Fest Chairs, and to the area businesses for their contributions to the auction.

“An event such as this cannot happen without your support,” he said. “This festival is an important fund-raising opportunity for Emmetsburg Catholic School, especially during this pandemic.”

Jean Hyslop, school principal, added, “Each year Emmetsburg Catholic School is blessed with the proceeds from this event that supports our school budget. Your generosity enables a quality, faith-filled education for all students that choose to attend Emmetsburg Catholic School. Words cannot express the appreciation to our benefactors and volunteers for the continued success of Auction Fest.”

The Auction Fest experience will begin with a preview/walk-through on Friday, March 26, at Corrigan Hall from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to view items up that will be up for auction. Masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced.

There will be raffle games during the preview for all to play, including: 50/50 Chance Raffle, purchase a chance to win 50-percent of the proceeds (need not be present to win); Pot of Gold, purchase to win a basket of lottery tickets; and, quilt raffle tickets will be available.

Auction Fest is Saturday, March 27, beginning with Mass at Holy Family Church at 5 p.m. Dinner-to-go is a delicious meal of beef tri-tips, potato, green beans, dinner roll and cupcake (a gluten free option was also available). Those who ordered dinner can pick up their meals between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Pick up spot is behind Corrigan Hall.

Auction Fest 2021 begins at 7 p.m. with an invocation by Father Bill Schreiber. The Facebook Live event for all live auction items is from 7 to 8 p.m. During that time, winners of the games of chance will be announced.
