St. Pat’s COVID-19 Protocols in Place
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration plans are underway!
In response to COVID guidelines St. Pat’s Board Members are reviewing and taking important precautions to ensure the revised events are as safe as possible.
Events are scheduled to start on Sunday, March 14, with the Little/Miss Shamrock Pageant. There will be some restrictions for attendance. The St. Pat’s Board is working closely with Emmetsburg High School and Palo Alto County Public Health to ensure a safe way for people to attend.
On Friday, March 19, the Annual Bean Bag Tournament will be held in the heated tent downtown. This year there will be two 12-man brackets to be able to make more space between the boards. There will be disinfecting of the bean bags between matches.
On Saturday, March 20, the St. Pat’s Board will host the Famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
“We are asking that all parade entries refrain from throwing and handing out anything in the parade due to COVID-19,” said Stephanie Mehan, St. Pat’s Board chairman.
“New Trick” will be performing in the heated tent Saturday night after the Wood Carving auction and raffle ticket drawing. Social Distancing and Masks are strongly encouraged and remember to stay home if not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID.
“The St. Patrick’s Board will be staying in close contact with city officials along with Palo Alto County Public Health leading up to St. Patrick’s Day,” said Mehan.
