Food Box Giveaway Feb. 20
A Food Box Giveaway will be held at the Multipurpose Center in Emmetsburg on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The giveaway is open to all Palo Alto County residents and is first come, first served.
The food box will contain apples, potatoes, onion, meat, a gallon of milk and other dairy products, plus items not yet listed (items subject to change). One box per household will be available, with two boxes maximum per vehicle.
Residents of Palo Alto County may line up their cars on East 12th St. facing west in single file starting at the corner of Union St. and 12th St. Traffic directors will be on site to help.
As you approach the volunteers, you will be asked to unlock your doors and open your trunk so that they may load the food box and milk into your vehicle. You should be able to stay in your vehicle at all times. Masks will be mandatory for the volunteers’ safety.
Remember that everyone will be volunteering their time. Give them a smile and a wave to show your appreciation and your patience.
Please call 712-298-1415 for more information or if you are homebound and need items delivered. If you live in the country, please ask a neighbor or relative for help.
Volunteers are needed. If you would like to volunteer, please call 712-298-1415.
The Food Box Giveaway is sponsored by the Stimulus Bill, the Palo Alto County Council on Aging, USDA’s Farmers to Families, and the Bethany Lutheran Church.
