The Feed Our Kids, Emmetsburg, program has been meeting the needs of food-insecure children for six years. This year, when families are struggling through the COVID-10 pandemic, funding to support Feed Our Kids came from the Ken W. Davis Foundation in Houston, TX.
“The opportunity to apply for grant funding came our way through the Ken W. Davis Foundation,” said Cindy Magee, a founding member of Feed Our Kids, Emmetsburg. “We were so surprised when we received a check for $22,000. This is approximately the cost of our yearly expenses.”
Leadership Honor Awards are presented annually to employees of Great Western Drilling, Ltd. and Kendavis Finance, Ltd. The two 2020 awards were presented to employees who were chosen for their charitable activity during the calendar year of 2019.
Tom Magee is an employee of Great Western Drilling, Ltd. Great Western Drilling has two locations – Midland, TX and Fort worth,TX. Tom’s wife, Cindy, has worked with and promotes Feed Our Kids, Emmetsburg.
The awards are based on charitable activities, including services provided to non-family individuals in need; service activities rendered to a 501(c)(3) charitable organization; or services that benefit the local community.
The Ken W.Davis Foundation selected Tom and Cindy Magee of Great WesternDrilling Co. to receive its 2019 Leadership Honor Award. The Magees designated Emmetsburg Educational Foundation to receive his leadership award contribution to support Feed Our Kids, Emmetsburg.
