November is National Adoption Month
Iowa Children Need You!
COUNCIL BLUFFS — November is National Adoption Month, a time to celebrate the community members and families who have adopted children in need of forever homes. But at Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI), it is also a time to recognize the more than 120,000 children across the U.S. who were waiting to be adopted in the last year.
Across 30 counties in western Iowa, LSI Foster Care and Adoption is answering the call by recruiting, licensing, and supporting hundreds of foster and adoptive families.
“There is no better feeling than when we see a child or teenager find their forever family. And right now, there are western Iowa children waiting for the perfect home for them,” said Dawn Luetje, Director of LSI Foster Care and Adoption. “Now more than ever, children need a solid foundation and support system to help them cope through the challenge we’re all facing this year. If you’ve ever considered becoming an adoptive or foster parent, now is the perfect time.”
Western Iowa has an immediate need for both foster and adoptive parents, especially homes that could welcome teens, children with high medical and emotional needs, and sibling groups. Visit LSIowa.org/foster or call 866.409.2351 to get started.
LSI is one of Iowa’s largest human services agencies and impacts tens of thousands of Iowans annually through child abuse prevention, services for families and youth in crisis, services for people with disabilities, and refugee services. LSI is nationally accredited and proudly serves people of all ages, abilities, religions, sexes, gender identities, national origins, ethnicities, races, and sexual orientations.
