Attempted Murder Charges Filed Following Weekend Incident
A Fairmont, MN mad was arrested early Sunday on numerous charges including attempted murder following an incident in Emmetsburg.
According to Emmetsburg Police Chief Ryan Veldboom, at about 1:#0 a.m. Sunday, March 18, officers of the Emmetsburg Police Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Sixth Street for an Assault complaint. Upon arrival, police officers provided emergency first aid to one adult male victim, who sustained several stab wounds and lacerations to the face, torso and leg. That victim was transported tot he Palo Alto County Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Another adult female victim was also transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
In connection with the assaults, 39-year old Ryan Clark of Fairmont, MN, was arrested by the Emmetsburg Police Department and charged with Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony; Domestic Abuse Assault with a Weapon, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and two counts of Child Endangerment, both Aggravated Misdemeanors. Ryan Clark was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail in Emmetsburg where he is being held in jail in lieu of a $350,000 bond.
Additional charges are pending in connection with the incident.
The charges against Clark are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Clark is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution mus prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
