Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce Seeks Nominations for Citizen of the Year and 5 Under 40
The Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Night is swiftly approaching. This year’s theme is “Cheers to 80 Years!” as the Chamber kicks off its 80th anniversary.
Each year, four prestigious awards are awarded to individuals that have made a difference in the community: Charles A. Hughes Citizen of the Year, Catalyst, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, and 5 Under 40. The chamber asks the community to nominate individuals that they believe embody the criterion for Citizen of the Year as well as the 5 Under 40 awards.
The Charles A Hughes Citizen of the Year Award is awarded to an individual, not necessarily a Chamber member, who has shown dedicated service to the Community of Emmetsburg. This award is community nominated, and the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce Board selects the individual.
The 5 Under 40 Award started in 2013. This award is a great way to show how young professionals and young business persons in Emmetsburg are making a difference in our community. The nominees must meet the following criteria:
He/ she must be under the age of 40 as of December 31, 2017 (your nominee will be flattered if you have to ask for the purposes of an award)
He/she is a business owner or an employee within your organization
He/ She has a history of displaying vision and leadership, innovation and achievement, impact, growth and development, and is involved within the community and made a contribution
The individual should be dedicated to Emmetsburg
He/she should have people skills, mentoring skills, and personal integrity
The 5 Under 40 is a citizen nominated, chamber chosen award.
To nominate an individual for either of these awards, please send an email or a letter to Chamber Director Deb Hite at Eburgchamber@KEMB.org or stop into the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce located at 1121 Broadway in Emmetsburg.
