PACHS Welcomes New Medical Provider
Palo Alto County Health System is pleased to welcome Andrew Trunkhill, ARNP, to Family Practice Clinic. Andrew is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 22 years of experience as a nurse before pursuing his Masters in Nursing Degree. He will be seeing patients of all ages at the Family Practice Clinic in Emmetsburg.
An Iowa native, Andrew graduated with a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Briar Cliff University. He has over 22 years of experience as a Registered Nurse before becoming a Nurse Practitioner. He has worked in Trauma ICU’s, emergency rooms, and surgery departments as both a manager and staff nurse. He is a former graduate of Iowa Lakes Community College, graduating with an Associate Degree in Nursing. He received his undergraduate BSN from Briar Cliff University where he achieved distinguished scholastic honors by becoming a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma and Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Societies.
Andrew is married to Jennifer, his wife of nine years. They reside in Humboldt with their three boys Noah, Micah, and Isaiah and daughter Samantha. Jennifer is a Consumer Directed Attendant Care provider and an in-home daycare provider. She is a master gardener and expert landscape artist. She also loves spending time outdoors riding motorcycles, working on her landscaping, and camping. Andrew and Jennifer’s children are involved in Boy Scouts, school sports, and drill team in Humboldt. Andrew and Jennifer also have six other children living in the Humboldt area. Andrew and Jennifer are avid motorcyclists and enjoy riding to Sturgis every year. You may also see them at some rock concerts listening to hair bands from the 80’s and 90’s.
“I am excited about joining the Family Practice team and look forward to meeting and caring for the residents of this area”, commented Andrew. “I enjoy working with patients and try to motivate them in their health and wellness goals.” One of Andrew’s favorite quotes is from Dr. Ben Carson. “Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next.”
