Ducks Unlimited Banquet This Friday Evening

The 33rd Annual Palo Alto Sportsmen Ducks Unlimited Membership fundraising banquet is this Friday night, Nov. 3 at The Shores at Five Island in Emmetsburg.

As in past years, the DU?banquet promises to be an evening filled with fun, games, great food and fellowship, all in the name of raising funds for the continued conservation, restoration and management of wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. 2017 marks the 80th Anniversary of Ducks Unlimited.

This year’s banquet is being catered by Cornerstone Catering by Jade of Emmetsburg.

Among the many items that will be up for silent or live auction at Friday’s event will be the Ducks Unlimited National Print of the Year, “Riding the Front – Bluebills”, by noted wildlife artist Scott Storm.

The Federal Duck Stamp Print will also be featured on the auction, along with numerous other prints by artists such as Storm and Terry Redlin.

The Ducks Unlimited Mallard Decoy of the year will also be offered, along with a special DU?ManCave package, featuring an DU?LED?lighted wall fixture, DU?dartboard and DU?bar stools. There will also be the DU?Knife of the Year and numerous guns, including a Mossberg 500 Flex, Beretta A300 and the DU?Handgun of the year, a Sig Sauer P320 9mm.

A special raffle will feature 10 gun cases, with the winner receiving a Franci Affinity shotgun. There will also be numerous other items, including womens’ DU jewelry.

Three special items have been donated to the auction, including a collection of David Maass commemorative duck calls along with DU?diorama pieces by Jeff and Tammy Naig.

Also donated is a duck boat, outboard motor and trailer that will be taken home Friday night. The rig was donated by Paul Brown and the Brown Family.

Several other decoys and blind accessories have also been donated to the program by David Johnson.
