Ducks Unlimited Banquet Nov. 3
The Palo Alto Sportsmen Ducks Unlimited Chapter is finalizing plans for its upcoming annual fundraiser banquet. The event will be Friday, Nov. 3 at The Shores community center in Emmetsburg.
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. 2017 marks the 80th anniversary of the organization.
This year’s Ducks Unlimited banquet will feature the traditional live and silent auctions as part of the fundraising event. Highlighting the auction this year are a pair of special incentive items. The first incentive item is a set of six David Maass commemorative Duck Calls. The calls are being donated to the Palo Alto Sportsman’s organization for this year’s banquet.
Also on this year’s auction as a special incentive item is a duck boat that will be filled with duck decoys donated for the auction.
Iowa is vital to the Ducks Unlimited goals of the region and the country. The entire DU Team in Iowa, including the volunteers, fundraising staff, conservation staff, as well as all the event attendees work toward the winning strategy that helps waterfowl and anyone who enjoys clean water. In 2016, Ducks Unlimited invested over $1.4 million in the state, directly conserving 1,237 acres and aiding in completion of 3 projects. In 2017 work continues on 12 Living Lakes projects and 9 Big Rivers projects.
