E-Waste Recycling Is May 30-31

Emmetsburg residents will have the opportunity to recycle E-Waste and Brown Goods next week. Shamrock Recycling Inc. of Emmetsburg will collect items on Tuesday, May 30, on the south side of Highway 18. Items will be collected Wednesday, May 31, on the north side of Highway 18.

Items that will be accepted include: all types of computer equipment, such as mouse, hard drive, laptop, desk top, keyboard,printer,external modem, monitor, server, CD-Rom, speaker, scanner and mainframe.

All types of electronic equipment will also be accepted, including typewriter, VCR, photocopier, circuit board, stereo, television, and cash register will be accepted for recycling. Also, fax machine, pager, telephone and cell phone can be put out for recycling.

Kitchen items, such as can openers and toasters will be accepted, too.

All items should be placed at curbside by 7:30 a.m. on collection day. If this day coincides with solid waste collection, Brown Goods and E-Waste items should be placed separately.

Microwave ovens and vacuum cleaners will not be collected.
