New Endeavor Joins Emmetsburg Business Community
Dj Brew opened its doors for business at 2104 Broadwayon Monday, Dec. 12 to a large crowd even though the weather was cold.
“It went really well. I was really happy especially as cold as it was,” noted owner Liz Hoppe. “I was kind of worried about that but it went really well. We learned some things and made a few adjustments but overall I think it went really well.”
According to Hoppe, there has been a lot of positive feedback from the community with a wide variety of people coming in.
“I think that a coffee bar is something that Emmetsburg has needed for years and I’m surprised that no one has done it yet to be honest,” Hoppe said. “So with the grant competition, it was really the right time for Collin and I. We don’t have any kids yet so it was the perfect time for us.”
Dj Brew serves freshly made muffins, scones and bagels as well as soups and sandwiches for lunch.
“I’m playing around with a variety of ideas. We’ve had breakfast cake, sugar cookies and energy bites,” Hoppe said. “I’m trying to get an idea of what people want and like.”
“If there is something that we don’t have that people are wanting, I hope that they will suggest it,” Hoppe said. “We can’t do everything, but suggestions are welcome and helpful.”
Dj Brew is open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays 7 a.m. to 4 a.m.
