The Emmetsburg High School Vocal and Instrumental Music Departments will host their annual Holiday Concert this coming Monday, Dec. 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium.

The concert will feature performances from the EHS Concert Band and EHS Jazz Bands, under the direction of Ms. Holly Prier, along with the EHS Mixed Chorus and Concert Choirs, directed by Mr. Luke Miller. In addition, the Emmetsburg High School Jazz Choir, along with the Varsity Show Choir, “High Voltage” and the Junior Varsity Show Choir, “Black and Gold” will present portions of their competition shows for the upcoming show choir season.

The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. after last weekend’s Holiday Pops Concert had to be postponed due to weather.

“The students have been working very hard on their music since our Fall musical production,” noted Miller. “The show choirs have put together two very good shows and both the Concert Choir and the Mixed Chorus and the Concert Band are all sounding wonderful with their holiday selections, too.”

As in past years, alumni of the EHS Vocal Department will be welcomed to join the massed choir on stage for the concert finale`.

“On behalf of the instrumental and vocal music departments here at Emmetsburg High School, we invite one and all to come out Monday evening for our Holiday Concert at 6:30 p.m.” Miller concluded.
