It’s Homecoming Week At West Bend-Mallard

HOMECOMING?CANDIDATES - These are the candidates for Homecoming Queen and King at West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate. WEST BEND – The Homecoming season begins this week with festivities for students in the West Bend-Mallard/ Gilmore City-Bradgate Schools. Homecoming 2016 got underway Monday with America Day for WBM/GCB students. Tuesday, Sept 13, is SuperHero or Villian Day, with students dressing as their favorite superhero or villain during the school day.

Wednesday, Sept 14 will be Backwards Day and Thursday, Sept 15, is Class Color Day.

The festivities ramp up on Friday, Sept. 25 with the theme of the Day, “Rock the Hawks.”

The annual Jersey fundraising auction will run from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the gym at West Bend, to be followed at 1 p.m. by the skits and the coronation of the 2016 Homecoming royalty. Candidates for Homecoming queen are Elizabeth Gehrt, the daughter of Mike and Kim Gehrt; Taylor Fogarty, the daughter of Tim and Dixie Fogarty; Abigail Zaugg, the daughter of David and Melissa Zaugg and Ashlyn Cole, the daughter of Deb Cole and David Cole.

Homecoming King candidates are Colton Wickman, son of Jeff and Jessica Wickman; Jeff Riesenberg, the son of Chuck and Lisa Riesenberg; Garth Fehr, the son of Byron and Anita Fehr; and Corbin Studer, the son of John and Heather Studer.

The Homecomings Parade will follow the coronation at 2 p.m. and a community Pep Rally is at 2:50 p.m.

The Homecoming week’s activities will wrap up Friday evening when the Wolverines play host to the Hawks of Remsen St. Mary’s in a 7 p.m. kickoff at West Bend.
