Public Invited to Ground Breaking Ceremony Monday at Iowa Lakes

By Staff | Aug 11, 2016

A ground breaking has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 15, to celebrate the start of work to build the new Student Services addition at the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes.

The facility was designed based on the desire of college personnel to better serve students at the Emmetsburg campus. It features an area complete with all services which welcome potential students and provide a central point of contact for current students who may need answers to their enrollment questions.

College President Valerie Newhouse, along with Emmetsburg campus Executive Dean Thomas Brotherton, will speak at the ground breaking.

The improvements were made possible thanks to voters who supported a bond referendum in February of this year.

Community members are welcome to join college staff starting at 10:30 a.m. for a reception in the dining services area, followed by the ground breaking at 10:45 a.m.
