Liz Mammen Becomes New Owner Of Second Hand Thrift Store
Second Hand Thrift Store, up until now owned and operated by Horizons Unlimited, will change ownership on July 1. The new owner will be Liz Mammen, who has been the store’s manager for the past year.
“We are releasing the store to Liz so we can focus on our day habilitation, job development, and residential programs,” said Ron Askland, CEO of Horizons Unlimited.
Said Billie Jo Hoffman, Emmetsburg Economic Developer: “Thank you to Horizons for their contribution to Emmetsburg over the years. The Thrift Store’s benefit to the community is two-fold: It is an excellent place to ‘upcycle’ your treasures, and it is also a very economical place to shop for the whole family. I have had the pleasure of knowing the new owner, Liz Mammen, for years. Her retail experience, drive, and passion will radiate throughout her store.”
“I am excited for this opportunity, and happy that this business can remain open,” said Liz Mammen, the store’s new owner. “To celebrate the continuing success of Second Hand Thrift, we will be open on July 4th this summer and will have a special Buy-One-Get-One deal that day.”
In addition to owning and operating Second Hand Thrift Store, Liz Mammen will also continue to work for Horizons as the site coordinator for the 19th and Pleasant Street Group Home.
