Palo Alto County Emergency Alert System

By Staff | May 12, 2016

Palo Alto County Emergency Management has completed all the requirements for Palo Alto County residents to sign up for a new form of weather and emergency alerting system. Palo Alto County Emergency Alert System, managed by Iowa Homeland Security and the Emergency Management Department, is a statewide mass notification system.

Weather related alerts will be sent out by text message, email and even phone calls.

To sign up for the system, visit entry.inspironlogistics.com/paloalto_ia/wens.cfm

When citizens register for the system, they can choose which weather watches and warnings they would like to receive from the Palo Alto County Emergency Alert System. Some alerts, such as tornado warnings will result in an actual phone call being made to whichever phone number you designate for receiving voice calls.

All users will automatically receive certain alerts that warn residents of an imminent or specific threat.
