Absentee Ballots For June Primary

To vote in Iowa’s Primary Election process, voters must declare their party affiliation (Democratic or Republican) to be allowed to vote in the primary election.

Thursday, April 28: Absentee voting begins 40 days before the election at the County Auditor’s Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June 6, at 5 p.m.

To request an absentee ballot through the mail use the Official Absentee Ballot Request Form available at the County Auditor’s Office or online at sos.iowa.gov. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is on Friday, June 3, at 5 p.m.

Saturday, June 4, the County Auditor’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for absentee voting and election day registration.

On Tuesday, June 7, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the following locations:

Emmetsburg Ward 1 Election Center

Emmetsburg Ward 2 Election Center

Emmetsburg Ward 3, Silver Lake Township, part of Highland, part of Walnut, and part of Emmetsburg Township – Election Center

Emmetsburg Ward 4, Fern Valley, Fairfield, Freedom, Independence, Vernon, and part of Emmetsburg Township – Election Center

Graettinger, Ruthven, Lost Island, part of Highland, and part of Walnut- Graettinger Public Library

West Bend, Ellington, Rush Lake, Booth, Great Oak, and Nevada – West Bend Public Library
