DIRTWORK?BEGINS - Crews from the Beemer Companies began preliminary dirtwork on the west edge of Emmetsburg Tuesday morning for the new Shopko Hometown store that will be constructed this Winter. The 26,000 square foot store is being constructed by Oppidan Investments of Minneapolis and is expected to be open in the Summer of 2016. “Shopko is a highly reputable brand, recognized for providing quality merchandise at affordable prices,”?noted Paul Tucci, Vice PResident of Oppidan. “We believe Emmetsburg will be well served by Shopko.” The Shopko Hometown locationi is just west of the USDA’s Farm Service Agency building on West Main Street in Emmetsburg. -- Dan Voigt photo
