Harvest Festival Week Culminates With Harvest Fest Event Saturday

HARVEST?FEST?WEEK - The Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce Retail Association invites everyone to get in the “Spirit” for Harvest Fest with a week-long celebration at participating businesses. As the harvest progresses in the area, the Emmetsburg Retail Association will once again sponsor its annual

Thank You”?to the public this Saturday, Oct. 17, with the Harvest Festival at the Emmetsburg VFW. The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs through 1 p..m.

The Harvest Fest is the Retail Association’s way of thanking the public for their support of businesses in the community. The event features activities for young and old alike, and will also feature great food as well.

The Harvest Fest will cap off the week-long Harvest Festival event at Retail Association member businesses. At those businesses, special sales will be in effect, as well as the Mystery BINGO?Ball promotion. When a purchase is made at a participating business, a special numbered BINGO?ball will be given to the customer.

At Saturday’s Harvest Fest, the Mystery BINGO?Balls will be used to draw for door prizes.

Another promotion of the Harvest Festival week will be special scratch tickets, which will be handed out with purchases at participating Retail Association businesses. A second-chance drawing from non-winning scratch tickets will also take place at Saturday’s Harvest Fest.

The Harvest Fest will feature a Burger Bar meal, complete with all the fixins’ for your freshly-grilled burger, along with corn, chips, a bar and drink, all for a free-will donation. Take-out meals will be available for a small charge.

The Harvest Festival week is also the kickoff event for the 2015 Holiday Discount Button sales, and the decorative buttons will be offered for sale at Saturday’s event.

BINGO?will be offered at the Harvest Fest for Mystery Prizes. For the younger set, the FUEL?Organization will be offering a pumpkin decorating activity during the Harvest Fest.

FUEL?will furnish the pumpkins and the decorating materials for youths to create their harvest time works of art.

All proceeds from Saturday’s Harvest Fest will go to the LIHEAP (Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program), admonishered by Upper Des Moines Opportunity.

We welcome everybody to come out to the VFW?on Saturday to participate in Harvest Fest,” noted Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Deb Hite. “It will be a fun event for all ages.”
