By Staff | Oct 6, 2015

FOOD?PRIDE?DONATION?-  Tim and Jodi Dittes of Appleton, Minn., owners of Food Pride in Ida Grove, Sac City, Laurens and Emmetsburg turned over the property deeds to their Food Pride and Alco buildings in Emmetsburg to the Ida Grove Kiwanis Foundation Sept. 30. The Emmetsburg Food Pride store was recently closed. The Food Pride and Alco buildings have a combined appraised value of $595,000. When the Kiwanis Foundation sells the buildings the proceeds will go to the Foundation to help pay for the youth softball/baseball complex north of Odeboldt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School. Tim Dittes noted the donation of the buildings is a way of helping the communities in which Food Pride does business. “This helps Ida Grove with their ball field project and it helps Emmetsburg make available for sale two buildings at below their assessed values.” On hand for the presentation were, from left, Foundation members Jeff Kelley, Peter Goldsmith, Food Pride owners Tim and Jodi Dittes, Foundation members Pat Phillips, Dennis Clausen and Tony Bennett. --Photo courtesy Mike Thornhill, Ida County Courier
