By Staff | Sep 24, 2015

The Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors approved several partial acquisition contracts at their regular meeting Tuesday, September 22. Also discussed were the hiring of an Administrative Assistant and an agreement with the City of Emmetsburg.

Palo Alto County Engineer Walter Davis-Oeth was on hand to present several partial acquisition contracts for land acquisition for the east section of right of way on B55 east of Rodman. Contracts with Mary Marti, Witrz Farm Partnership, Charles Wirtz, James Wirtz, & Douglas Wirtz, David Schmidt and Michael and Lila Wirtz received unanimous approval from the Board.

Davis-Oeth also asked for the approval of a 28E agreement to allow for sharing of engineering costs on the reconstruction of the intersection of North Lawler Street, College Drive and County Road N40. The agreement would split the costs between the City of Emmetsburg and Palo Alto County Secondary Roads for the replacement project, which is slated to take place in 2017. The agreement was approved on a unanimous vote of the Supervisors.

In a final item of business, Davis-Oeth presented a recommendation for board approval of the hiring of Melissa Hall as the new full-time Administrative Assistant in the County Engineer’s Office.

The recommendation was approved unanimously. Hall will start work on October 5 at a rate of $15.00 per hour.
