By Staff | Jan 21, 2014

Organizers are gearing up for the 2014 Miss Shamrock Pageant and are now encouraging potential contestants to sign up to be a part of this year’s event. Those eligible to compete in this year’s event are young ladies from Palo Alto, Kossuth, Emmet, Dickinson, Clay, Buena Vista, Pocahontas or Humboldt counties in Iowa, that are currently a Junior or Senior in High School.

“I am so pleased to be a part of this year’s Miss Shamrock Pageant. It will be fun to be on the directing side of the pageant, after years of participating as a contestant,” said Beth Elman, newly founded Director for the Miss Shamrock Pageant.

The 2014 Miss Shamrock Pageant is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium. Contestants will compete in five categories, including a personal interview, stage presentation, performance of a three minute talent, formal wear presentation and an on stage question.

The 2014 Miss Shamrock will be busy reigning over the Grand 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and she will have many opportunities for public appearances throughout the year.

Those interested in competing in the 2014 Miss Shamrock Pageant can contact St. Pat’s Headquarters in Emmetsburg for an entry packet at 712-852-4326. Packets are also available online at www.emmetsburgirishgifts.com under forms.

All entries are due on or before Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.
