Celebrate Homecoming With E-Hawk-Style Tailgate Party

Chambermember businesses will be handing out goodies along the parade route this Friday from 2:45 to 4 p.m. following the Homecoming parade at 2 p.m.

Celtics Beverage Co. and The Reporter & The Democrat will be on Broadway serving hot dogs, brats and pop. Creative Stitches will be at 2110 11th St handing out wristbands. Cuts Unlimited at 112 Broadway will have grilled hot dogs. Dairy Queen and the St. Pat’s Association will be serving ice cream treats at 1001 Broadway. Emmetsburg Care Center will have megaphones in Courthouse Square. Also in Courthouse Square, Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities will have Black & Gold Magnets.

ETC will have wild rice soup at 908 Broadway and Farmer’s National Co. will have goodies at 1102 Broadway. Food Pride, Hardware Hank & Wells Fargo will have tacos in a bag on Broadway. Hometown Convenience will have pop at 1303 Main. Hughes Pharmacy and Riviera Theatre will have popcorn on Main Street. Head over to the corner of 10th and Broadway for E-Hawk cookies served by Iowa Trust & Savings Bank.

At the south corner of Courthouse Square KEMB-LP/Chamber 3TV will be handing out E-Hawk tattoos. Main Street Memories Mall at 2121 Main will have sweet treats. New Shoots will have treats and goodies at 1021 Broadway. Once Again Consignments at 1112 Broadway will have grilled hot dogs. Pizza Ranch will have lemonade on Broadway. Poet will have koozies in the Courthouse Square.

Wenzel’s True Value Farm & Home will have free popcorn at 1301 Main. Wild Rose Casino & Resort will have foam E-Hawk claws at the North corner of the Courthouse Square. Young’s Custom Computers & Edgewater BBQ will have Pit beef sandwiches at 905 Broadway.

The tailgate party is sponsored by the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Homecoming Events

Emmetsburg High School students have been observing Homecoming throughout the week, with a special designation each day.

Highlight of the school week is coronation of Homecoming Royalty at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday. Candidates are Miranda Vlasman, Jacque Carlson, Rachel Schroeder and Whitney Kibbie for Queen; Austin McCartan, Jake Jackson, Andrew Wellik and Nick Schany for King.

Coronation speaker is Lori Riley. A para-educator at Emmetsburg Community Schools, she will speak on Pride.

Friday, Black &?Gold Day, is the Homecoming Parade at 2:15 p.m. Parade units will line up at Soper Park and proceed south on Broadway. A Pep Rally will be held at Courthouse Square with Brent McAllister and Rick Jones as Grand Marshals.

The E-Hawks will take on Western Christian k on the gridiron at 7 p.m.
