Clean-Up Day at Fairgrounds- Fair Opens Thursday

By Staff | Jul 17, 2012

A CLEAN SWEEP – Saturday was the annual Clean Up Day at the Palo Alto County Fairgrounds in Emmetsburg. The annual morning of cleaning up the fairgrounds preceded the Palo Alto County Fair, which will see the judging of Exhibits on Tuesday and the start of livestock judging and activities on Thursday. Volunteer efforts of 4-H members, their parents, families and friends make the clean up a quick process. Eric Woodford, owner of Woodford Equipment of Emmetsburg, brought down a BIG broom to do a little sweeping in the Open Air Pavilion on Saturday morning, while Jillian Joyce used a little more conventional style broom to sweep out one of the pens in the lamb barn. – Dan Voigt photos
