Graettinger-Terril To Graduate 29
GRAETTINGER Twenty-nine members of the Graettinger-Terril High School Class of 2012 will participate in commencement exercises on Sunday, May 20. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in the Graettinger school gymnasium.
Baccalaureate exercises will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger. The public is invited to attend. An awards night for the senior class will be held immediately following baccalaureate exercises in the Parish Center.
The classmates have chosen their class motto from the song “Closing Time” by Semisonic: “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” Their class colors are black and purple, and their class flower is a white carnation dipped in purple with sparkles.
Mrs. Garnet Voigt will play the processional as the senior class enters the gymnasium. Commencement ushers include Katie Noah, Cassy Hampson, Zach Chicoine, and Logan Flaharty. Honorary junior ushers are Alyssa Hampson and Blaze Alesch.
Quinn Parker will provide the welcome.
The Concert Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Anne Sexe will sing “Walk A Little Slower My Friend.” Madisen Schany and Mitch Girres will present “Graettinger-Terril Memories.” A senior slide show, developed by Kristina Girres and Gabrielle Kerr, will be shown.
Morgan Matthews will provide the Valedictorian address. High School Principal Jesse Ulrich will then present the graduating class. Mr. Galen Chicoine and Mr. Roger Schmitt, members of the G-T Board of Education, will present diplomas to the graduates.
Mary Callyn Herke and Ashley Rehm will present the class picture, and Kayla Sandbeck will provide closing comments.
