RIBBON CUTTING -- Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at Horizons’ Second Hand Thrift Store, downtown Emmetsburg. Second Hand Thrift, located at the corner of Main and Broadway, opened the first of December. “People have been great about donating and also coming in to the store to shop,” said Sue Wallace, manager. “It’s great to have somebody in this building again. We’ve had great comments about the store.”
The non-profit retail business for Horizons Unlimited serves as a training and job site for Horizons members, as well as a revenue-generating operation to help supplement the programs at Horizons Unlimited.
Second Hand Thrift is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are accepted during store hours.
