Gov. Branstad, Lt. Gov. Reynolds to Hold Education Transformation Town Hall Meeting in Emmetsburg

DES MOINES Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Joy Reynolds will hold one of six education transformation town hall meetings and a parent roundtable in Palo Alto County next week.

Since the Education Blueprint unveiling on Oct. 3, 2011, Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds have held 29 town hall meetings across the state, soliciting feedback from Iowans. The upcoming town hall meetings will take place in Polk, Calhoun, Humboldt, Kossuth, Emmet and Palo Alto counties.

Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds will kick off discussions of the Education Blueprint this Saturday, Dec. 10, with parents in West Des Moines at the West Des Moines Public Library.

Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds have previously held roundtable discussions regarding education transformation with business leaders, college and university presidents, educators, and students. Though the participants for the parent roundtable have been selected, the public is welcome to attend.

The Palo Alto County education transformation town hall meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13. Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds will be at the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium, 205 King Street, Emmetsburg. The meeting is at 2 p.m.

Palo Alto county residents are encouraged to attend.
