Absentee Ballots Available For School Election

Absentee ballots are now available at the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office for the school election that will be held on Tuesday, Sept.13.

According to Gary Leonard, Palo Alto County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, persons who are disabled or are going to be absent on Election Day may vote an absentee ballot at the County Auditor’s Office or request an absentee ballot through the mail. Requests by mail must be on the Official Absentee Ballot Request Form available at the County Auditor’s Office.

The Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Absentee voting is available at the Auditor’s Office from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Election Day.

The last day to pre-register to vote for the school election is on Friday, Sept. 2.

If you have moved, call the Auditor’s Office at 712-852-2924 to have your address changed and to avoid waiting in line at the polls.

The polls will be open on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from Noon to 8 p.m.

Patrons of the Emmetsburg Community School District vote at the Election Center, South Broadway, in Emmetsburg.

Graettinger-Terril Community School District patrons may cast ballots at the Graettinger Public Library in Graettinger, and the Terril Memorial Building in Terril.

Patrons of the Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School District vote at the Ruthven Social Center in Ruthven.

West Bend-Mallard Community School District patrons vote at the West Bend Public Library in West Bend, and the Mallard Community Center in Mallard.
