Palo Alto County Graduations

RUTHVEN – The Ruthven-Ayrshire High School Class of 2011 will participate in commencement exercises on Sunday, May 15. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium in Ruthven.

Class officers include President Sadie Forey, Vice President Michael Sundall, Secretary Geena Blake, and Treasurer Caitlyn Reed. Class sponsors are Mr. Jon Josephson and Mrs. Connie Larson.

“We arrive as strangers, but leave as family” is the class motto. The seniors have chosen the class colors of hot pink for the girls and lime green for the boys. The girls will wear white robes with black stoles, while the boys will wear black robes with white stoles. The Gerber Daisy is their class flower.

Twenty-one members of the senior class will accept their diplomas on Sunday. Ushers include Alesha Sikora and Logan Bowman.

Superintendent Dr. Norene Bunt will provide the welcome, and the Mixed Chorus will perform a musical selection.

Keely Williamson and Sadie Forey will present Senior Plans, while Mrs. Connie Larson, school counselor, will preside over the awarding of honors. The Palo Alto County Bar Association will present the Iowa Bar Association Award.

Kelsey Henningsen and Brecken Stukey will dedicate the annual, and Salutatorian Kayla Dyer and Valedictorian Michael Sundall will address their classmates. Principal Milton Peters will then present the Senior Class, and School Board President Lisa Berkland will award diplomas to the graduates. Geena Blake and Trevin Enderson will preside over the rose ceremony.
