In the hour just before daybreak, the dogs were getting restless. Then they started barking. Ned Munn came out of his house to check.
There they were. About 30 wee people out in the yard. They scattered like mice, trying to get into hiding before they were seen.
“I caught two of them,” reported Munn. “After they calmed down, they confessed they were after my Irish Stew recipe.”
Munn had tight hold on the little Leprechauns (Shamrock on the left and Skye on the right).
“I told them if they wanted to see what was in the stew they could come to the Senior Center on Saturday, March 19,” said Munn. “We’ll be serving Irish stew from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
Munn said that Christy Vilsack will be among the servers that day when Emmetsburg will host the annual St. Patrick’s Celebration. --Jane Whitmore photo
