Tonic Sol-Fa Concert Is St. Pat’s Weekend
Tonic Sol-Fa will be returning to Emmetsburg the weekend of the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, according tothe St. Patrick’s Association.
The concert will be held Saturday, March 19, at the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
Tonic Sol-fa is an a cappella group. They perform approximately 150 concerts each year across 48 states. Their original songs, arrangements and albums have won numerous contemporary a cappella awards for best pop album, gospel song and Christmas original, have been featured on television and in movies and have garnered positive national reviews for their work.
Tonic Sol-fa has shared the stage with Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy, Garrison Keillor, Lonestar, Montgomery Gentry, Shawn Colvin, Weird Al Yankovic, Bryan White, Neal McCoy, Nestor Torres, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Jerry Springer among others.
This group of four voices was inducted into the Midwest Music Hall of Fame in 1997. They have made national appearances in Newsweek Magazine and on NBC’s Today Show. Tonic Sol-fa has performed the Star Spangled Banner for national Republican and Democratic events, former presidents, the Minnesota Twins, the Chicago Bears, the NY Mets, and the National 4th of July Celebration at Mount Rushmore just to name a few. In 2010, Tonic Sol-fa won their first Emmy Award in the Musical Composition/Arrangement” category for a song performed in Toys for Tots Public Service Announcement. They have also most recently won two Independent Grammys for Best Original Holiday Song and Best Pop Song out of 650,000 entries worldwide.
