Snowshoeing 101

By Staff | Jan 18, 2011

Last Friday morning, sixth graders at Emmetsburg Middle School slipped on snowshoes and headed out for some exercise in the fresh winter air. The snowshoeing activity was presented by Palo Alto County Naturalist Miriam Patton during the students’ social studies class. Patton shared the history of snowshoeing with the kids, and then let them experience snowshoeing first-hand. More photos from the morning can be found on Page 8 of today’s Reporter. — Lori Hall photo
