CLUE – The Musical Is Coming To MSCT
Emmetsburg Main Street Community Theatre will be holding auditions for the upcoming musical production of “CLUE, The Musical” on Monday, Jan. 10, and Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dinges-VanOosbree Center for the Performing Arts, located at 19th and Lake Streets in Emmetsburg.
“CLUE, The Musical” is a musical based on the board game, Clue.
Audience participation is a feature of this interactive musical. The fun begins with three audience members selecting one card each from three oversized decks and placing those cards in an envelope marked “Confidential.” The envelope is then left untouched until the end of the production. The chosen cards will determine the ending of the show, which has 216 possible conclusions! These card selections also determine some interchangeable dialogue between certain characters, which are delivered as the play unfolds.
The musical features the following nine characters:
Mr. Boddy The host of the game, Mr. Boddy is the current husband of Mrs. Peacock and victim of the impending murder.
Detective She appears in order to crack the case, and rebuffs Professor Plum’s amorous advances.
Colonel Mustard – A mentally ill man, Colonel Mustard fancies himself a triumphant war colonel. He is implicated in the death of Mr. Boddy’s parents and is currently having an affair with Mrs. Peacock.
Mr. Green A con artist and entrepreneur, Mr. Green is a former lover of Miss Scarlet.
Mrs. Peacock A “black widow” and chairwoman of Peacock Enterprises, Mrs. Peacock is married to Mr. Boddy and is cheating with Colonel Mustard.
Professor Plum A super genius, author, intellect, and imposter, Professor Plum’s family fortune was ruined by Mr. Boddy.
Miss Scarlet The femme fatale of the game, Miss Scarlet is a former Las Vegas lounge performer and former lover of Mr. Green.
Mrs. White This character is sometimes played by a man. Mrs. White is the chief domestic of Boddy Manor, and is virtually enslaved by Mr. Boddy.
Piano Player The Piano Player plays a role in the show that is a surprise.
