Santa and Mrs. Claus came to Emmetsburg Friday for A Holiday Spectacular evening. Young and older whispered their secrets to the jolly couple, including Donna Kunz of Emmetsburg.
Ice on the side streets prevented the horse-drawn wagon rides this year. That had been an annual event that families enjoyed for many years.
The Sounds of the Season were heard at the Chamber/Welcome Center and at Holiday Headquarters. The Algona Cornbelt Chorus performed at the Welcome Center and then took their harmonizing all over downtown. Biblical Brass &?Beyond also played at the Welcome Center.
Glenn Henriksen was at the keyboard, playing and leading sing-alongs to Christmas songs.
Breakfast With Santa was Saturday morning. Dozens of youngsters came to talk to Santa Claus and enjoy a little breakfast.
Celebrating the season continues with a Christmas Tree Charity Auction this Sunday, Dec. 5, at Holiday Headquarters. Biblical Brass &?Beyond will play the Christmas classic, “White Christmas” will be shown at Riviera Theatre. --Jane Whitmore photo
