Demolition work began last week on the school building in Cylinder. Workers began razing the structure back on Nov. 15, starting on the northwest end of the building in the old elementary wing and are working their way to the two-story portion of the building and gymnasium. As workers brought the structure down, items are being salvaged from the building, including a flag from one of the classrooms, which found its way onto one of the excavators being used to raze the facility. The school building was last used by the Area Education Agency until it relocated to Pocahontas last year.
