Kibbie Elected To Help Lead The Iowa Senate

By Staff | Nov 18, 2010

DES MOINES — State Senator Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg will help guide the work of the Iowa Senate during the next two years as the President of the Senate.

“Times are tough and voters expect results,” said Kibbie. “I’m looking forward to working with Governor Branstad on my top priority: putting Iowans back to work. At the same time, I will help working families by opposing proposals that would undermine Iowa job growth and our quality of life.”

In contrast to most other states, Iowa’s state budget is in better shape and Iowa’s economic numbers are stronger in relative terms.

“We’ve laid the groundwork for a strong economic recovery by developing a renewable energy economy, protecting educational opportunity here in Iowa, and reorganizing state government.” said Kibbie. “Now’s the time to carry through by creating the jobs Iowa families need.”

The 2011 first session of the 84th Iowa General Assembly will convene on Monday, January 10, 2011. For more information, contact Senator Kibbie at (712) 260-2345.
