Veterans Day Program At VFW?Post Home

Members of VFW Post #2295 will host a Veterans Day program at the Post Home this Thursday, Nov. 11. The program begins at 10 a.m.

Guest speaker is Col. Steve Wieneke, Inspector General, Iowa National Guard.

The morning program will begin with music by Emmetsburg Catholic School Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Kelley Fog. Ronald Hersom, Commander of Post #2295, will welcome guest and lead them in the Pledge of Allegiance. Pastor Judy Depue will lead the group in prayer.

Commander Hersom will recognize World War II Veterans who participated in the Iowa Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Another flight is scheduled for next year.

Sarah Matthews will sing, Gerald Dillon will read “That Ragged Old Flag” and the Catholic School Choir will sing. Denise Haack will close the program by playing Tapps.

Coffee and rolls will be served by members of the VFW Auxiliary, provided by Wells Fargo Bank. Donations will be accepted for the Care Package Program for military men and women serving overseas.
