Tuesday Is Election Day

With the November 2 election less than two weeks away, the election officials across the state are issuing reminders to voters about the upcoming election. Palo Alto County Commissioner of Elections Gary Leonard is also issuing several reminders to county residents about the upcoming election.

Most importantly, the last day to file a request for an absentee ballot to be mailed is next Friday, October 29, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office, located in the Palo Alto County Courthouse in Emmetsburg. Voters may also vote in person at the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office at the Courthouse on Saturday, October 30th, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and also on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Election Day, Tuesday, November 2, 2010, the polls will open at 7:00 am and close at 9:00 pm.

In Palo Alto County, residents living in Booth, Emmetsburg, Great Oak, Nevada and Silver Lake Townships will cast their ballots at the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg. Residents living in Ellington and Rush Lake Townships will vote their ballots at the Mallard Community Center.

For voters living in Freedom Township Northwest and the City of Emmetsburg Ward One, the polling place will be the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg. Residents of the City of Emmetsburg Ward Two will also cast their ballots at the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg.

Voters residing in Emmetsburg Township Southeast and the City of Emmetsburg Ward Three will cast their ballots at the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg. For residents of the City of Emmetsburg Ward Four, the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg will be the polling place.

Additionally, voters who live in Fairfield Township North, Freedom Township, Independence and Vernon Townships will also cast their ballots at the Palo Alto County Election Center on South Broadway in Emmetsburg.

For residents of Fairfield Township Southeast, along with Fern Valley and West Bend Townships, ballots will be cast at the West Bend Public Library.

Electors living in Lost Island Township North and Walnut Township will cast their ballots at the Graettinger Public Library.

Voters who reside in Lost Island Township Southwest and Highland Township will vote their ballots at the Ruthven Social Center.

Once again, on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2, 2010, the polls will open at 7:00 am and close at 9:00 pm.
