Knights’ Game Is Cancelled
There will be no football come Friday night for the Graettinger/Terril Knights, as their scheduled game with Twin River Valley was cancelled Wednesday. Officials of the Twin River Valley Community Schools contacted both the Graettinger/Terril Schools and the Iowa High School Athletic Association to cancel the game because the Thunder are unable to field a full team due to injuries.
According to Graettinger/Terril officials, the Knights have been awarded a win for the cancellation by the IHSAA and will receive the full 13-point differential allowance, since TRV contacted the IHSAA to facilitate the cancellation of the game. TRV has battled low numbers during the season, and injuries of late have whittled the number of available players to a point where the team would not be able to compete.
Graettinger/Terril is assured of a second-place finish in Eight-man District Two and will play in the post-season playoffs, which begin next Wednesday, Oct. 27.
