In August 2007, groundbreaking was held for a new Ayrshire Community Center. Board members from Palo Alto County Gaming Development Corporation and Ayrshire Farmers Mutual Telephone Company, and residents of the community turned out for the event.

“Ayrshire Day” was celebrated this past weekend. Sunday morning, after the pancake breakfast at the Community Center, residents gathered outdoors for a ceremonial mortgage burning. Donations from former community members’ families enabled the city to pay off the mortgage early.

“We want to thank everybody who helped along the way to make the Community Center become a reality,” said Al Stangl.

The Ayrshire community Center houses Legion Post 173, Ayrshire City Hall and a kitchen and community area.
