Flood Water Receding In Cylinder

By Staff | Jul 1, 2010

FLOOD WATERS are receding in Cylinder. Cylinder firemen manned the pumps throughout the weekend. Fire Chief Dave Pettit continues to monitor the operation. It was a huge community effort to pump from one ditch to the storm sewer; and from property into the ditch beside the Camper Sales, then west to the Cylinder Creek. The town is slowly drying out. --Jane Whitmore photo

Palo Alto County is currently on the state’s list for Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for Public Assistance (PA), according to Mark Hunefeld, Palo Alto County EMA/E911 Coordinator.

This includes damage such as water in the basement, collapsed walls, and backed up sewers.
